New and Improved Guided Mountain Experiences at Alyeska Resort for the 24/25 Ski Season
Black Diamond Club Now Open with helipad access to the
world-famous Chugach Mountain range
Girdwood, Alaska (October 7, 2024): Alyeska Resort is pleased to announce new and improved guided mountain experiences for guests. The property’s newly opened Black Diamond Club allows guests access to the hotel’s helipad, which gives helicopter and cat skiers convenient access to the world-famous Chugach Mountain range, covering beautiful terrain with alpine bowls, colossal mountain faces, towering glaciers, sheltered trees, and steep powder skiing. In winter, guests are on the doorstep of 1,610 skiable acres and 76 trails, including North America's longest double black diamond run. The mountain is home to a 40-passenger aerial scenic tram with panoramic views and features seven dining experiences, including Seven Glaciers, a AAA Four Diamond Award restaurant with unparalleled views overlooking seven hanging glaciers.
Private Ski Lessons & Terrain Based Learning
Everyone from first-timers to experts will find themselves progressing on the mountain after a private lesson with Alyeska’s professional instructors. For first-time skiers, lessons start at $99 and include lift tickets and rentals. For children ages 4-6, private lessons start at $129, including a lift ticket. For ages 7+, private lessons start at $399 for a half-day. The Terrain Based Learning™ Method at Alyeska Resort is a groundbreaking revolution in the snow industry that has garnered acclaim and recognition across the nation, transforming how guides teach skiing and snowboarding and creating an immersive and dynamic environment that enhances the learning experience. Using specifically shaped snow features to naturally control a skier’s speed and body position, Terrain Based Learning™ removes the traditional fears and anxieties associated with skiing. They are thrilled to be at the forefront of this innovation, making it accessible to their guests at Alyeska Resort, where the adventure of snow sports is redefined.
Mountain Explorer’s Club
A guided youth experience open to ages 13-17, the Mountain Explorer’s Club is available for all ability levels. The focus will be driven towards mountain exploration and the individual’s skill set. Students will be grouped with others of similar age and ability. This adventure must be booked online for $249 and is for novice-advanced skiers and snowboarders.
Private Guided Experiences for Guests
A great option for first-time visitors to Alyeska Resort, this is a chance to get to know the mountain from the experts. Whether hunting for freestyle tips, searching for the steeps, or craving the carve, Alyeska guides will enhance the day on the hill. This experience is not a lesson—the guest controls the experience and their day while the PSIA & AASI-certified coaches provide added mountain or skill intel. The purchase of a private experience allows access to the Mountain Sports School line at each chairlift whenever accompanied by a guide.
High-End Demo Fleet
A new demo fleet of skis and snowboards will be available to guests for the 2024-2025 season consisting of Head, Stockli, Kastle, K2 & Line. Guests will be able to tune their gear overnight so that it will be ready for the first tracks the next day
Enhanced Mountain Host Program
The Mountain Host Program this season is a new service initiative to expand the resort’s ability to better communicate with their mountain guests and be a friendly face to greet skiers as they arrive. TThey will provide information on mountain products and services, help monitor for safe riding, and be stationed at various points on the mountain daily. Riders can expect up to 10 hosts around the mountain at all times, ready to offer tours, wayfinding help, recommendations for runs or gear, and detailed knowledge about all current runs and trail conditions
